Systems & Infrastructure provides a range of strategies and services that support the delivery of Corrections’ core business, and ensure the Department’s ability to maintain consistent service delivery regardless of external events and crises.

Information and Technology
The Information and Technology Unit is responsible for meeting the information and telecommunications needs of Corrections’ staff. The Unit’s work includes:
Maintaining and supporting over 7,621 desk phones, 2,045 cellphones, 6,944 personal computers, 2,019 printers and 472 servers.
Facilities Management
Facilities Management acts as a ‘landlord’ of Corrections’ land and buildings. Facilities Management sets design requirements for all facilities, supervise the building of new units at existing prisons, and manage the upgrading and maintenance of all land and buildings. Compliance with statutory requirements of building operations and land use, energy management and all asset-accounting functions fall within the section.
Facilities Management staff are located at every prison site and at head office.
The New Zealand Parole Board
The New Zealand Parole Board is an independent, statutory body established under the Parole Act 2002. Systems and Infrastructure provides administrative support services to the New Zealand Parole Board. The New Zealand Parole Board's head office is in Wellington and it operates regional offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
