Corrections staff work in a challenging and rewarding environment. They are helping to improve public safety and play a crucial role in reaching the Department’s goal of reducing re-offending by 25 percent by 2017.

We have staff working at the National Office in Wellington behind the scenes, in all kinds of roles from advisers to policy developers. All the different roles exist to support the people who work in the frontline of Corrections.

Corrections officers, probation officers, case managers, psychologists, instructors are just a few of the many staff who work with offenders on a daily basis, ensuring public safety and supporting the offenders to change their lives around.
