Probation Officers manage offenders on community-based sentences and orders and have a key role in encouraging positive change in offenders' lives so they stop offending and become more productive members of society.  

We need Probation Officers to make the changes that strengthen community-based sentences and orders and enhance our positive contribution to community safety.

Probation Officers play a vital role in keeping our communities safe by helping to change lives for the better.

They provide advice to Judges and the NZ Parole Board, and work with offenders in the community, including people on community work, home detention and parole.
