Corrections is calling for entries in the 2006 Prisoner Christmas Card Competition.
Prisoners are invited to submit up to four designs with a traditional-Christmas-in-New-Zealand theme. The Chief Executive will select up to five winning designs and these will be used as Corrections’ official Christmas cards. They will also be available for staff to purchase.
The competition is an opportunity to showcase the artwork of prisoners and recognise the contribution that art programmes and their tutors make to support prisoner rehabilitation.
Winners of the competition will receive $100 and a further $200 will be given to their respective prison for purchasing art materials.
Production and distribution of Christmas cards will be managed by the print shop at Wellington Prison.
