Corrections’ new head office structure is now up and running and we welcome two new members to our senior management team - General Manager Organisational Development Vince Arbuckle, and General Manager Business Information and Planning John Bole.

Vince ArbuckleVince Arbuckle

Vince, the new General Manager Organisational Development, has an extensive background  in human resources (HR) management, having worked as Director of HR for the Fire Service and insurance company Axa. He says the job he’s stepped into will be about aligning learning and training opportunities for staff and discovering synergies.

“I’ll be building on the excellent work Corrections is already doing to increase the capability of staff, such as the training and development functions of Prison Services and Community Probation & Psychological Services (CPPS), the Future Leaders programme, and the new Amohia Ai Māori Management Mentoring scheme.”

Vince has already paid several visits to staff in the Prison Services and CPPS and plans to get out to the front-line whenever he can.

“Corrections is a ‘people’ business. We need to select, encourage and reward our staff well - and I need to understand how staff operate and what messages they’re hearing from head office.”

“It’s also vitally important that we recognise stakeholders such as the unions. Unions have a very legitimate role and working constructively with them will be a critical success factor for Corrections.”John Bole

John Bole

The new General Manager of Business Information Planning John Bole has over 20 years experience in the utilities business in the private sector. For much of that time he’s worked as a chief finanical officer, with a focus on performance and process improvement.

John says he’s delighted to have joined the enthusiastic and dedicated senior management team at Corrections, and he’s looking forward to providing concise and useful financial and non-financial information to all Corrections’ services to help them in their operations.

“My other primary focus will be continuing the incremental improvement of reporting.”
