Members of the New Zealand Parole Board will discuss the impact of the Parole Act 2002 and the Sentencing Act 2002 with Department of Corrections Psychological Service staff at a regional forum in Dunedin this week.
Other topics covered will include research projects on motivating offenders, the proposed new Prisons and the potential for the use of video-conferencing technology.
A New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists' Council member (Karen Ramsay) will also attend the forum and discuss the implications of the Health Practitioners' Competency Assurance Bill, which should shortly pass into law.
