After an extensive tendering and negotiation process, the Department of Corrections is pleased to announce that CHUBB New Zealand Limited has been awarded the contract to provide for the monitoring of offenders subject to home detention, for the next five years.
As the incumbent provider, CHUBB has provided reliable electronic and manual monitoring of offenders on home detention over the last five years. The new contract will see the continuation and further development of that service.
As part of the new contract, CHUBB will also work with the Department to explore new electronic monitoring technologies that offer innovative solutions to the community-based management of offenders. Further details will be announced in February 2005.
