The Minister of Corrections, Hon. Paul Swain, today issued a media release announcing that Telecom and Vodafone have agreed to work with the Government to stamp out cell phone use in New Zealand prisons. Read the full media release.
Mr Swain recently attended the Australasian Corrections Ministers' conference where a report looking at the technology for stopping cell phone use in prisons in Canada, Singapore, France, Israel and Britain was presented.
