new-uniforms-300pxFrom 1 September 2011, all Corrections' prison staff began wearing a new, blue fit for purpose uniform.

There is an operational uniform and a formal uniform.

Residential staff (those who primarily conduct unit-based duties and deal with prisoners on a daily basis) wear the operational uniform – light blue polo-shirts and cargo pants – as their core items.

Non-residential staff (those who primarily deal face-to-face with outside agencies and the general public on a daily basis, including escorts, court, CSU and visits area staff) wear the formal uniform – light blue collared shirts, ties and tailored trousers – as their core items.

Managers wear the non-residential uniform with a white shirt.

Tunics have been issued to all staff to wear during formal occasions.
