The Corrections Amendment Bill 2011 contains nearly 50 legislative amendments to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Corrections system.
The Bill amends the Corrections Act 2004 and the Courts Security Act 1999. It contains policy changes and minor technical amendments to primary legislation. The provisions in the Bill were to have been part of the Corrections Administration (Effectiveness and Efficiency) Bill, which has been split into two Bills: the Administration of Community Sentences and Orders Bill and the present Bill.
