Introduction

This section covers procedures for reparation assessments and guidelines for contact with offenders and victims.

Reparation report

A reparation report should be prepared:

  • whenever one is requested by the court, and
  • if there are reparation issues to be considered in the course of preparing a PSR.

The probation officer who is preparing the PSR should not prepare the reparation report.

Note: A reparation report may be prepared for a non-imprisonable offence that has caused loss or damage to property, or emotional harm.
