Prepare reparation report information

As demonstrated in the reparation process diagram, before completing the reparation report (as outlined in Section C, Writing the Reparation Report) the information for the report must be compiled through a review of existing information and gathering information from appropriate sources, including the victim and the offender.

The stages in this process are:

  • Gather and check information.
  • Make an initial approach to the victim.
  • Interview the victim.
  • Interview the offender.
  • Mediate between the victim and offender (if appropriate, this may be a restorative justice conference).

Reference: Restorative Justice Conferences.

Each of these stages is detailed within this section as a topic.
