Contents

A reparation report may contain any or all of the following:

  • the nature of the emotional or physical harm to the victim
  • the value of the loss or damage to property
  • any consequential loss or damage
  • whether the offender and victim have reached agreement on the amount of reparation to be made and the terms of any agreement
  • the financial capacity of the offender
  • the maximum amount that the offender is likely to be able to pay under a sentence to make reparation
  • the frequency and magnitude of any payments that should be required under a sentence to make reparation, where provision for payment by installments is thought desirable, and
  • details of actual or potential entitlement under the IPRC Act.

Note: In some cases, it may be appropriate for a report to be prepared covering both:

  • emotional or physical harm, and
  • loss(es) and damage(s) to property.
