Introduction

This chapter covers guidelines and procedures for conducting the short PSR assessment and producing the report.

Note: This process contains all possible information that could be required for the preparation of a short report.

Purpose of the short assessment

The purpose of the short PSR assessment is to collect and analyse information for decision making about sentencing options within the three lower tiers of the sentence hierarchy.

This means a short report may be used only to recommend a sentence up to and including community work (CW) and/or supervision.
