Functional support offenders

When a report is written for a functional support offender there may be a higher level of communication between CPPS and PS than there would be for non-functional support offenders. They are also likely to have a team review of their progress and ongoing needs so that their future risks are identified clearly.

Off-site forensic & youth offenders

PS are currently working on a process for writing reports on offenders that are not in PS custody. These are offenders who are in off-site forensic facilities or youth justice residences. Contact CPPS Operations helpdesk for more information about these offenders.

Temporary released to attend community residential centre’s (off site transfers)

For offenders who have been temporarily released to attend a community residential centre the NZPB administrator will request a report from the respective CPPS coordinator, who will report on the offender’s progress at the programme and complete a parole assessment addendum report (SMP.6.F1) in the CPPS format. Completion of this report is the responsibility of the coordinator.

PS will complete their portion of any reports required by the NZPB before the offender is released to attend the community residential centre.
