This topic provides general information about NZPB progress monitoring. NZPB progress monitoring was introduced in the 2007 amendments to the Parole Act 2002.
The purpose of NZPB progress monitoring is to give the NZPB the opportunity to monitor an offender’s compliance with the conditions of their release.
NZPB progress monitoring may occur in any instance in which the NZPB is satisfied that it is desirable to monitor the offender’s compliance with release conditions because of the special circumstances of the offender.
