Introduction

This topic introduces information about CD EM Notifications. It also includes guidelines for the storage of these notifications.

Purpose of CD EM notifications

The purpose of CD EM notifications is to provide informaiton for the CPPS staff member to investigate whether or not the offender has been compliant with the conditions and requirements of their CD sentence.

Format of CD EM notifications

CD EM notifications will be sent to CPPS staff by the monitoring company via email.

Some CD EM notifications will have a participant event history attached to them.  These participant event histories contain a list of the relevant EM events for the offender.

Note: The CD EM notifications and participant event histories will be sent to the CPPS staff notified to the monitoring company on the CD1.

Frequency of CD EM notifications

CD EM notifications are available for every offender currently serving a sentence of CD.

These will be provided to CPPS by the EM company by 12 noon Monday to Saturday, and will report on the offender’s EM on the previous day from 8am to 8pm (Monday CD EM notifications will cover the previous two days).

Storage of CD EM notifications

CD EM notifications and attached participant event histories for a given offender must be printed and kept on that offender's paper file.

Any EM information gathered outside the curfew period that is recorded in the CD EM notifications and attached event histories must be destroyed either once:

  • the sentence of CD has been completed, or
  • once any enforcement action in respect of the sentence of CD requiring the daily electronic monitoring reports as evidence has been completed (whichever is later).
