Introduction

A national standard is in place, governing the forms and formats that must be used in managing all sentences and orders.

All administration activities must be recorded on the standard forms and formats, which form part of the operations manuals.

Purpose of standard

The purpose of this standard is to:

  • ensure a clear and consistent approach to the administration of sentences and orders
  • provide clear and consistent information for case reviews, special investigations, quality assurance and audit purposes
  • allow staff to move between areas and service centres without the need to retrain, and
  • allow offenders to transfer between areas or service centres without undue disruption.
