Before conducting an initial induction interview, the probation officer should undertake a short file review, using the induction checklist. Cover the following tasks:

Check for any other CPPS sentences or orders, either new or existing. |

Check for DVA protection orders or non-association orders, restrictions or contact with children/young persons etc. |

Identify and prepare for any potential problems that may make it difficult for the offender to participate in the induction interview (literacy, language, hearing/speech impairment). |
