Introduction

This section outlines the procedures for completing induction for an offender subject to:

  • a sentence of home detention (HD),
  • residential restrictions (RR) as a condition of parole, and
  • RR as a condition of extended supervision.
Two parts of the induction process

The induction process for HD/RR can be divided into two parts:

  • part one includes:
    • initial induction
    • specific induction relating to electronic monitoring (EM), and
    • the installation of EM equipment and commencement of the electronic monitoring of the sentence/order.
  • part two includes:
    • all other sentence specific induction requirements, and
    • ensuring that the offender and all relevant occupants are clear about their obligations and rights during the sentence/order.
Timeframe

The two parts of the HD/RR induction process can be undertaken over one or two meetings, and should occur at the electronically-monitored address.

The full process must be completed during the first week of the sentence/order.

This section is divided into the following topics:

  • Preparing for Induction
  • Travel Arrangements from Prison
