Introduction
This section outlines the procedures for completing induction for an offender subject to:
- a sentence of home detention (HD),
- residential restrictions (RR) as a condition of parole, and
- RR as a condition of extended supervision.
Two parts of the induction process
The induction process for HD/RR can be divided into two parts:
- part one includes:
- initial induction
- specific induction relating to electronic monitoring (EM), and
- the installation of EM equipment and commencement of the electronic monitoring of the sentence/order.
- part two includes:
- all other sentence specific induction requirements, and
- ensuring that the offender and all relevant occupants are clear about their obligations and rights during the sentence/order.
Timeframe
The two parts of the HD/RR induction process can be undertaken over one or two meetings, and should occur at the electronically-monitored address.
The full process must be completed during the first week of the sentence/order.
