Introduction

Following initial induction, offenders must be made aware of the requirements and expectations of their specific sentence or order.

The sentence/order specific induction sets the framework and establishes the ongoing expectations for how the specific sentence or order will be managed.

This chapter covers the guidelines for carrying out tasks in the induction process specific to each sentence and order.

Timeframes

Sentence/order specific induction occurs after the offender has been initially inducted at their first report to CPPS.

Specific induction can occur either at this first report (following completion of initial induction) or at the offender’s next scheduled report in. All induction tasks should be completed within the first week of the offender’s sentence/order.

Note: Induction for home detention (HD) and residential restrictions (RR) on parole or extended supervision will usually take place at the offender’s address and can occur over several meetings. All induction tasks must still be completed within the first week of the sentence/order
