Being on the OWR does not always increase the frequency of offender reporting requirements, although it is anticipated that offenders may progress through the phases more slowly.
OWS offenders are required to comply with the reporting requirements of their sentence/order or with OWS reporting requirements – whichever is the most restrictive/frequent reporting regime.

When an offender meets the OWS criteria and is registered on the OWR, the first scheduled home visit must be undertaken within 48 hours of the sentence/order commencing.
All other scheduled home visits for OWS offenders are undertaken according to normal sentence/order requirements as documented in the previous topic ‘Minimum Reporting Requirements’.
All offenders on extended supervision are to be included on the OWS throughout their order.

The approval of the Regional Manager is required before a life parolee can be removed from the OWR.
If an offender has completed the first third of their sentence and the probation officer wants to reduce the frequency of reporting to fortnightly, then the following criteria must be met:
