The following table describes the process for managing a recall application once:

  • it has been lodged with the NZPB, and
  • the grounds for interim recall are not met.
Task Description
NZPB Administrator
1

Receives the application, and:

  • checks whether the application has been signed
  • checks that the exhibits match those noted in the affidavit
  • checks IOMs to determine whether the offender is currently held in custody
  • schedules the hearing
  • sends a copy of the recall notice to the probation officer
Probation Officer

Note:

The timing of the hearing commences on the date the papers are served on the offender.

3

Notifies the NZPB by email of the date and time the application and notice were served on the offender.

Note: This is required as a ‘record of service’, which provides evidence that the offender has been served.
