The monitoring company will provide weekly event reports on all offenders subject to EM.
The weekly event report provides the probation officer with a record of all EM alarms received for an offender during the previous week.
The report details all events relating to the offender???s movements in and out of their electronic boundaries for the week and all events related to equipment.
When reviewing the weekly summaries, probation officers should look for:
A list of all event alarms received by the monitoring company and their definitions are available on Corrnet.
Note: The extra transmitter detected event alarm should be investigated with some caution (see following page).
The extra transmitter detected event alarm means that the home unit has detected a second EM bracelet. This event alarm may be set off by a security officer carrying equipment through an offender???s boundary.
Whether or not the probation officer investigates this event will depend on:
Probation officers may contact the monitoring company and request an identification of the transmitter to help in deciding how to respond to the alarm.
If this alarm event continues to occur, the offender???s electronic boundaries may need to be reviewed.
Note: Many of the event alarms relate to automated system checks between the monitoring centre computer and the receiver in the offender???s home.
