This section covers the process for completing the work placement and basic work & living skills (BWLS) assessment.
Using the work placement and BWLS assessment form and the relevant BWLS forms follow the steps below that incorporate the work placement assessment and BWLS screening processes:

Complete offender and sentence details. These can be obtained from file information, IOMS and initial induction. |

Consider placement suitability using the principles and criteria outlined earlier (in section 3A) as a guide. |

Calculate risk, self harm, and offender warning system (OWS) issues. This information can be obtained from the initial induction. |

Canvass the offender’s health. |

Check the offender’s availability to complete community work (CW) in terms of:

Canvass social circumstances in relation to:

|
7 |
Confirm offender’s eligibility for BWLS. |
|
8 |
Conduct BWLS screening if the offender is eligible |

Check whether the offender is subject to:

Record recommendation for placement with:

11 |
Sign the assessment form as completed. |
