When the offender reports

When the offender reports on a scheduled work day:

  • take roll call
  • record the offender's reporting time on their attendance record, and
  • have the offender sign the worksheets.

Note: There are two copies of the worksheets, one for the community work supervisor and the other for CWC staff.

Late reporting

If the offender arrives late, interview them to find out why they are late. If the offender gives no reasonable excuse then take appropriate action for lateness.

Reference: Volume 3a, Part VI, Non-compliance and Enforcement. (please refer to the related links section on this page)

Requests for rescheduling

Repetitive requests for rescheduling need to be given further consideration. A meeting between the offender and probation officer/senior community work supervisor should be arranged to discuss the appropriateness of the sentence and the ability/inability of the offender to meet the requirements of the sentence.

Returning from work projects

When the offender returns from their scheduled work project, the community work supervisor should complete the offender's attendance record. They should record the hours completed and comment on any offender's performance if it is notable.

Reference: If sanctions have been imposed during the day, or if considering not counting hours, follow the steps to take described in this Volume 3a, Part VI, Chapter 3, Sanctions.
