Contingency plan
Each work project file must include a contingency plan for bad weather where work is outdoors or can be affected by bad weather (e.g. rain, high winds, etc). This plan must enable compliance with the following rules:
- Efforts should be made to provide work for the full reporting day.
- No offender or staff member may be put at risk in site conditions where weather could create hazards at the work site.
- Where work will continue in wet weather, staff and offenders must have access to wet weather clothing.
- Community work supervisors must be informed about inclement weather procedures:
- in general, and
- for each project.
- In the case of wet weather, community work supervisors at the work site must contact the CWC to:
- notify them of the weather conditions and the effect on the work, and
- receive further instructions.
- In some instances projects may need to be finished or sites made safe in the wet. This may require an early return if offenders become particularly cold and wet.
