Recording hours worked

If the offender is working through concurrent or cumulative CW sentences, consult the following table to decide how to record the hours they work.

concurrent sentences

hours should be recorded against both sentences.

Note: The amount of time left to serve is either of the following, whichever is greater:

  • the remaining hours on the original sentence(s) at the time of the new sentence being imposed, or
  • the total of the new sentence.

pre-termination and 10% remission assessment should be undertaken when 75% of the longest sentence is completed.

cumulative sentences

the first sentence is terminated in IOMS when the hours for the original sentence are completed.

A cumulative sentence commences on the date when the last hour of the first sentence is completed.

10% remission can be considered when the offender has reached 75% of the total number of hours imposed.
