Introduction

This chapter outlines the policies and procedures to:

• obtain informed consent from the offender, and
• make a referral to Work and Income or a programme provider.

Offenders have to consent to the assessment process for BWLS before CPPS can make the initial referral to Work and Income or a programme provider for the offender to be assessed for a BWLS programme.
