1

- Update IOMS casenotes to:
- record the outcome of the BWLS assessment, and
- credit the offender’s CW sentence with the time taken to participate in the referral and assessment steps for BWLS.
Note: This should be done in the report in screen, as a report in for CW.
- Record in IOMS casenotes that BWLS programme availability is to be reviewed at the quarterly assessment.
- Place the completed PAC form on the offender’s hard copy file.

continue to step 3. |

|
Advise the offender (in writing) that:
- there is no suitable programme available at this time but this will be reviewed in 3 months time, and
- they must continue to complete their CW sentence as CW hours.
|
Review
At the quarterly assessment, or if a placement becomes available, review the:
- offender’s willingness to participate
- availability of a suitable programme, and
- amount of time left to complete the sentence.
Space becomes available
When a programme provider (or Work and Income) informs CPPS that a space on a BWLS training programme has become available, review the eligibility of BWLS screened offenders to participate in the available programme.
