Introduction
This chapter details the purpose and processes of the Agreement for Sharing Information About Child Sex Offenders (Agreement for Sharing Information About CSO) between the Department of Corrections and the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services, Ministry of Social Development, Housing New Zealand Corporation and New Zealand Police.
Relevant Legislation
Corrections Act 2004
- Section 182A of the Corrections Act 2004 authorises a specified agency that has entered into an information sharing agreement under section 182D with another specified agency to disclose to that agency any personal information about a child sex offender, but only if the disclosure is for, or relates to, a purpose listed in section 182A(3).
Parole Act 2002
- Section 107B(1) of the Parole Act 2002 sets out the relevant offences against children and young persons under the age of 16, or persons with significant impairment that offenders who are subject to the Information Sharing Agreement have been convicted of.
