Introduction
This topic provides information about what to do after the initial identification has been made.
The service manager will need to provide information to the area manager to help them make an informed decision about whether notification should occur.
Information to be provided to the area manager
The service manager is responsible for providing information to the area manager to aid in the decision making process.
This information should include:
- a copy of the offender’s file including all psychologists reports and sentencing notes
- details of the offenders address (if known) including a description of the address, details of all occupants, and information about neighbouring properties
- details of any suppression orders or victim issues
- the completed CSO10 CSO Notification Initial Identification Memo.
CSO notification memo
The CSO10 CSO Notification Initial Identification Memo is sent by the service manager to the area manager and is used to provide information necessary for the area manager.
Address
The following table sets out what to do if the address is confirmed/not confirmed.

CSO notification regional spreadsheet
The CSO notification regional spreadsheet records all CSOs that meet the criteria for initial identification.
This spreadsheet records and tracks the progress and decisions about notification. It is also a useful tool for recording and monitoring these CSOs.
The service manager is responsible for entering the initial identification and details of the offender on the regional spreadsheet.
The area manager is responsible for recording the decision and details about the notification.
