HRX for offenders outside the criteria

A CPS staff member can follow the process below if they believe that an offender who does not meet the HRX criteria should have HRX status.

Process

The table below describes the process for getting HRX status for an offender.

Stage Description
1 The CPS staff member:
  • writes a report outlining the reasons for their belief, and
  • forwards the report to the Regional Manager.
2 The Regional Manager:
  • considers the information
  • signs off the referral, and, if approved,
  • sends the referral to the Director, Psychological Service.
 3

The Director, Psychological Service, on a case-by-case basis:

  • reviews each offender's details, and
  • decides whether or not to approve HRX status.

Removal of HRX from OWS register

HRX offenders can only be removed from the OWS register with the approval of the Director of the Psychological Service.
