Unique Identifiers

Principle 12

Principle 12 focuses on how unique identifiers may be assigned to individuals that definitively identify the subject of the information.

For Community Probation Service, the use of Personal Record Numbers (PRN) is necessary to enable the department to carry out its functions and therefore complies with this Principle.

The number cannot, however, be disclosed to any other agency that is not in the criminal justice field.
