Quality standards
The CPS will sample 20% of completed SPIs to the following standards, as detailed in the PARMA ruler.
What will be assessed
The following indicators will be assessed:
- The offender's personal details should be accurately recorded.
- All sources of information should be identified.
- There should be at least 2 additional sources of information to corroborate information.
- The offender's criminogenic needs should:
- be clearly and correctly stated
- include a clearly identified severity level
- include any identified responsivity barriers, and
- prioritised for intervention.
- Any known offender management issues should be recorded.
- SPI is completed in IOMS in the required template and to the timeframe.
PPS reporting
The PPS will monitor monthly, and report to the CPS on the volume of:
- eligible inmate receptions
- eligible inmate receptions with completed SPIs within agreed timeframe, and
- exceptions.
CPS reporting
The CPS will monitor monthly, and report to the PPS on the volume of:
- Level 2 reports completed
- Level 2 reports completed appropriate to the business rules
- Level 2 reports completed with a completed SPI, and
- SPIs completed within the agreed timeframe.
Quality assurance
Each Services planning and monitoring team will have overall responsibility for the IOM monitoring framework to ensuring that the agreed standards are being met by both services.
