Career Services

Objective

The agreement with Career Services is intended to reduce re-offending by facilitating the re-integration of offenders into the community. It is acknowledged that:

• offenders have special needs for re-integrative support, particularly on release from prison or on community-based sentences, and
• employment has a key influence on offender outcomes and that career planning and job search skills play an important role in the successful employment and reintegration of offenders.

Topics covered

The following services to be provided by Career Services are included in the schedules to the MoU:

• provision of printed and electronic information
• provision of seminars on career related matters, and
• provision of one-to-one career planning.
