Introduction

MoUs have been negotiated between the Department of Corrections and other agencies. These MoUs formalise functional relationships and determine the level of services that will be provided between each agency. Some MoUs will be supplemented by more detailed protocols about certain issues, eg. information sharing.

Rationale

The rationale for the MoUs is that the provision of services between the agencies will assist CPS in providing for the reintegrative needs of offenders and as such will support the reintegrative services phase of IOM.

The MoUs are implemented at the local level through the development of Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Each Community Probation Service area is required to report progress in meeting the conditions of the SLA every 6 months.

Copies of MoUs

Copies of all MoUs can be accessed through each Probation Officer.
