2.1 List of Notifiable Incident categories

The following is a list of currently approved incident categories for all offender related incidents which must be notified to the Chief Executive or nominee(s):

Offender is charged with, or convicted of, a serious offence while on sentence with CPS

Offender is charged with, or convicted of, a serious offence within 12 months of the completion of a sentence with CPS

Offender is, or has been, or is likely to be, the subject of significant media interest because of the scale or nature of offending

Threat of serious violence made by an offender

Threat made to a specific person

b

Threat made to a specific group of persons

Significant incident while offender is working in the community on Community Work

a

Offence, excluding serious offences as mentioned above in 01

b

Significant damage to property

Death/serious accident to offender on Community Work or Home Detention, or while on CPS premises

Allegation that an offender has been subjected to violence committed while engaged in Community Work or on CPS premises

 

 




1 Serious re-offending means any situation involving an offender who:

  • is charged with, or convicted of, an offence punishable by more than 2 years imprisonment, while on strength with the Community Probation Service, OR
  • is charged with, or convicted of, an offence punishable by more than 2 years imprisonment, within 12 months of the completion of a sentence administered by the Community Probation Service, AND/OR
  • is, has been, or is likely to be the subject of significant media interest because of the scale or nature of offending.
