Other staff involved

Within the offender management process, other prison staff have a crucial role to play. Staff involved include:

  • health staff
  • CIE instructors
  • other instructors
  • chaplains
  • reintegration team leaders
  • reintegration caseworkers
  • social workers
  • whanau liaison workers
  • programme coaches and facilitators.

Specific areas

Other staff play a part in a number of areas, including:

  • providing the activities that are on the offender plan, e.g. prisoner employment, programmes, special treatment units, and
  • providing feedback on a prisoner to their case officer using the activity progress form and file notes.

Active management

As well as the specific areas mentioned above, all staff are involved at all times in the active management of prisoners.
