It is assumed that when you carry out this task you will already be familiar with:

Who does it

The receiving officer receives and assesses the prisoner.

When you do it

You receive and assess the prisoner when they are brought to your facility from:

  • police
  • courts, or
  • other prisons.

Information provided

All prisoners to be received and assessed must be accompanied by a warrant. Other information may also accompany the prisoner.
