National Requirement
The designated officer investigating the claim should:
- Check property records to ensure that the property exists and belongs to the prisoner making the claim.
- Check whether unit/cell searches have been undertaken to locate the property.
- Interview prisoner(s).
- Interview staff.
- Consult with Police and
- Record the results in IOMS.
Property claims are recorded and patterns monitored.
