Key Roles and Responsibilities


Regional Manager
  1. Ensures plan is developed as a result of consultation with relevant outside agencies.
  2. Ensures plan is consistent with best practice model.
  3. Ensures training is carried out as agreed in the implementation plan.
Senior Management Team
  1. Ensure that command structures and systems are in place.
  2. Ensure that adequate emergency equipment is maintained, operational and accessible.
Unit Manager
  1. Holds evacuation drills and emergency response exercises for staff and prisoners at least quarterly.
  2. Ensures that all prisoners are aware of emergency procedures.
  3. Record all outcomes of drills and exercises, and forward copies to site / regional designated person for monitoring.
  4. Identify all issues during drills and exercises, and take all necessary action to address these issues through appropriate channels and in a timely manner.
