Performance Standard

All requests for information made under the Official Information Act 1982 must be recorded in the site register maintained by the Prison Manager or delegate.

Procedure Standards

  • All requests for information will be forwarded to the Prison Manager or delegate for response and facilitated in accordance with E.16 and Official Information Act.
  • Requests for information relating to prisoners will be facilitated in accordance with E.17 and the Privacy Act.
  • All requests will be entered into the Official Information Request register.
  • The register will contain details of the request, including but not limited to;
    • Requester name.
    • Date received.
    • Information required.
    • Decision on release of requested information.
    • Reason for decision.
    • Date of reply.
  • Prison Manager forwards requests for information to the appropriate Manager for processing.
