Agreement for Living in the Pacific Focus Unit

I, ________________________, agree to the following as the conditions of my being allowed to enter and live in the Pacific Focus Unit.

Code of Conduct:

I agree that I will:

• not take drugs, alcohol, or use needles
• not steal or intimidate other prisoners or staff
• not engage in any gang-related activity (including the use of gang-related language, hand signals, prospecting for new recruits, etc.)
• not possess any gang-related or marked equipment or personal belongings
• not tattoo myself or others
• not spit in the unit
• not swear or use abusive language towards any other person;
• attend all scheduled interventions; and
• maintain an acceptable degree of hygiene.

I understand that the unit is drug-free, and that random drug-testing occurs more frequently than in other units.

I agree to submit to drug-testing whenever I am requested to do so.

Agreement

I agree to abide by the conditions detailed in this Code of Conduct for the Pacific Focus Unit including any additional rules that may apply specifically to me as explained upon my reception at the Pacific Focus Unit.

This means that I will:

• take responsibility for my own actions and outcomes;
• work towards reducing my risk of re-offending;
• learn and apply better skills for interacting with fellow prisoners and staff; and
• show respect to and cooperate with all people who live, work, and visit the unit regardless of their offence(s) or ethnicity.

I will discuss any problems I may have with my case officer or the Unit Manager and understand that if I do not abide by the provisions in this Code of Conduct, or fail to respond to the feedback and advice of others, that I may be discharged and moved out of unit.
