Policy Standard
- Prison musters are managed within agreed levels
- Police cell usage monitored
Performance Standards
- Accurate and timely information on current musters and projected musters is provided to the required people on time.
- Each prison's muster is monitored and approved action taken to ensure it does not exceed the maximum muster level.
- Prisons provide the morning's accurate lock-up muster returns using email by 8.30am am each day except for Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays to Muster Co-ordinator in National Office (email address "PS Musters") on the National Muster Coordination Form Input Sheet (NMCFIS).
- Prison accommodation is used before that of court cells and police jails.
- Service Level Agreements are maintained.
- Liaison and visits by the Corrections Liaison Officers are undertaken with court managers and police personnel to manage muster levels and agree on operational arrangements when musters are exceeded.
- There is national coordination and management of the muster.
- Corrections prisoners being held in custody by police in accordance with Corrections Act section 34 (3)(a)(i) are monitored to ensure detention timeframes are complied with per Corrections Act section 34 (5)(a)(b)(c).
