- The purpose of the release procedures is to ensure that prisoners who are eligible for release are managed appropriately depending on the type of release, these include:
- parole (with standard and or special conditions)
- home detention (if leave granted)
- Christmas early release
- compassionate grounds (serious illness, or pregnancy), or
- bail (prisoners on remand).
- The following sections identify the criteria for each type of release. These procedures contain robust review procedures to ensure that:
- the prisoner is able to be released
- they have been advised of all their rights
- they have received all their entitlements, and
- all people and organisations required to be notified of the upcoming release have been advised.
