Where can I find Corrections Statistics?

Corrections’ annual report and statement of intent contain many useful official statistics and accounts. Corrections does not collect statistics for parts of the justice sector that it is not responsible for. For example, crime statistics are collected by the Police and the Ministry of Justice. How do I find out about a Prisoner?

Members of the public wanting information about a prisoner should email or write to the Department contact for general enquiries. Media should email the Communications Unit .

How do I visit a Prisoner?

See the guide for prisoners and visitors for information on visiting prisoners. Media wanting to visit or interview prisoners must email the Communications Unit first as the Corrections Regulations 200 on the government legislation website require the Chief Executive’s approval for media interviews.
