Within Community Probation & Psychological Services, Administration Officers are vital to the smooth running of any team.

Our frontline staff make a valuable contribution to community safety and we need more people like them to join us. We have recently made important changes to strengthen community-based sentences and ultimately to reduce re-offending.

Key focus
Administration officers provide administrative support to teams throughout Community Probation & Psychological Services (CPPS).

Key roles
Administration officers are vital to the smooth running of any CPPS team. They may be responsible for general administration duties including:

  • arranging travel, meetings, events, venues, etc
  • supporting area staff recruitment and induction
  • organising office supplies
  • helping new staff with office software.

Administration officers also have a key role in activities unique to CPPS. They may have to:

  • action computer-based offender management records, eg report requests from the court, allocations, etc
  • liaise with the court, New Zealand Parole Board, lawyers and other services to exchange offender information
  • coordinate administration for breaches, appeals, etc
  • maintain community work attendance records
  • support the court team by collating materials and ensuring reports are ready on time.
