FAQ

As a Community Work Supervisor you will oversee and manage up to ten offenders serving community work sentences on meaningful projects at schools, reserves, community groups, marae and churches – whatever the community needs. You will work with a Service Manager and a team of Probation Officers to manage offenders serving sentences and orders in the community.

Key focus
Community work supervisors oversee offenders on community work sentences and help manage group work projects. They:

  • organise work projects
  • share their practical knowledge and skills
  • coach offenders on the safe use of tools and equipment
  • provide a positive role model
  • keep records of offender attendance.

Community work supervisors often work part time and may also work on weekends.
