View Additional Information on Senior Community Work Supervisor Role

FAQ

As a Senior Community Work Supervisor you will motivate and lead a small team of Community Work Supervisors who oversee offenders serving sentences on community projects. You will also have a practical role sourcing and overseeing projects as well as undertaking work-site and health and safety evaluations.

Key focus
Senior community work supervisors (SCWS) manage offenders serving sentences of community work and/or community detention, from induction through to completion.

Community work requires offenders to make reparation to their communities through unpaid work in a pro-social environment, while community detention restricts an offender’s movements with curfews that are electronically monitored.

Key roles
Senior Community Work Supervisors build and sustain relationships with community partners in work projects and offender placements. They lead a team of community work supervisors and act as positive role models for offenders. They also manage the day-to-day running of community work operations, including overseeing work projects and organising tools and equipment. And they are responsible for health and safety in the centre and on work projects.

Senior Community Work Supervisors oversee offenders on community detention, install and remove monitoring equipment, and review monitoring reports from the Electronic Monitoring provider. They monitor and follow up on sentence compliance and recommend  enforcement action if necessary.
